Day 1
Aairport - Hotel
Since Leh is at a high altitude (~3,500m), it's important to rest and allow your body to adjust.
Day 2:
Leh - Leh
- Hall of Fame Museum – A tribute to the Indian Army, showcasing Ladakh’s history and the Kargil War.
- Shanti Stupa – A white-domed Buddhist stupa offering panoramic views of Leh, perfect for meditation and photography.
- Gurdwara Pathar Sahib – A sacred Sikh shrine associated with Guru Nanak Dev Ji, known for its peaceful ambiance.
- Magnetic Hill – A fascinating spot where vehicles appear to roll uphill due to an optical illusion.

Yurutse - Shiu
- Begin the trek from Yurutse, ascending towards Ganda La Pass (4,970m), enjoying stunning views of the Zanskar and Stok ranges.
- Take a break at the Ganda La Top, marked by prayer flags, and soak in the panoramic mountain vistas.
- Descend towards Shingo (Shiu), passing through beautiful meadows and remote landscapes.
- Spot Himalayan wildlife like blue sheep, marmots, and various bird species along the trail.
- Arrive at Shingo, a peaceful campsite surrounded by towering peaks and a refreshing mountain stream.
- Rest and relax at a homestay or campsite, enjoying warm Ladakhi hospitality and local cuisine.
Day 5:
skiu - Markha
- Begin the trek from Skiu, following the scenic Markha River valley through a mix of barren landscapes and lush greenery.
- Cross several small wooden and stone bridges over the river while enjoying views of towering cliffs and rock formations.
- Pass through charming Ladakhi villages like Chaluk, where you can interact with locals and see traditional mud-brick houses.
- Stop at small tea tents (parachute cafes) along the route for refreshments.
- Continue trekking through narrow gorges and open fields, with the chance to spot Himalayan wildlife like blue sheep and golden eagles.
- Reach Markha Village, the largest settlement in the valley, surrounded by barley fields and traditional Ladakhi homes.
- Visit the Markha Monastery and explore the village, experiencing authentic Ladakhi culture.
- Rest for the night at a homestay or campsite, enjoying a warm meal and the peaceful mountain atmosphere.
Day 6:
Markha - Thochuntse
- Start the trek from Markha Village, leaving behind the lush fields and following the Markha River upstream.
- Pass by Hankar, the last major village in the Markha Valley, known for its ancient ruins and stunning landscapes.
- Enjoy breathtaking views of Kang Yatse (6,400m), a towering peak that dominates the skyline.
- Cross small wooden bridges and walk through grazing fields where you may spot yaks and dzos (yak-cow hybrids).
- Trek through rocky trails and gradually ascend towards Thochuntse, a beautiful high-altitude campsite with flowing streams and meadows.
- Relax and set up camp at Thochuntse, enjoying the peaceful mountain environment and preparing for the higher altitudes ahead.
Day 7:
Thochuntse - Nimaling
- Depart from Thochuntse, ascending gradually through stunning high-altitude meadows.
- Enjoy breathtaking views of Kang Yatse (6,400m) as you trek closer to its base.
- Pass by small grazing areas where you may see yaks, dzos, and Himalayan marmots.
- Reach the Nimaling Plateau (4,700m), one of the most beautiful and vast grazing lands in Ladakh.
- Experience panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, including the Zanskar and Ladakh ranges.
- Set up camp at Nimaling, where you’ll be surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes.
Day 8 :
Nimaling - Leh
- Begin the journey back to Leh from Nimaling, descending through the breathtaking Kongmaru La Pass (5,260m), the highest point of the Markha Valley Trek.
- Enjoy stunning views of Ladakh’s rugged landscapes, snow-capped peaks, and deep gorges along the route.
- Descend through Chuskurmo and Shang Sumdo, where the trek usually ends.
- Drive back to Leh via Hemis Monastery, one of the largest and most famous monasteries in Ladakh, known for its beautiful architecture and sacred relics.
- Reach Leh by late afternoon or evening and check into your hotel for a well-deserved rest.
Day 9 :
Departure
