Hazratbal Shrine

Hazratbal Shrine is a revered Muslim shrine located on the northern shores of Dal Lake. It houses a relic believed to be a hair strand of the Prophet Muhammad. The shrine’s origins date back to the 17th century when it was initially established by Inayat Begum, the daughter of Khwaja Nur-ud-Din Eshai.

Significance

The shrine is considered one of the holiest places for Muslims in Kashmir and attracts thousands of pilgrims. It is also known as Dargah Sharif and Assar-e-Sharief, reflecting its deep spiritual significance.
